Whole school programmes incorporating assemblies, storytelling, talks and workshops to educate children and young people on the global themes of migration and refugees.
My Bright Kite are passionate about educating all children and young people, irrespective of background, on the global themes of migration and refugees.
To support this vision, we have launched a range of dedicated schools’ programmes designed to enable children and young people’s understanding of these important and potentially difficult subjects in a child-centric, engaging and dynamic way, whilst delivering core curriculum learning outcomes in a classroom setting.
Our programmes draw on the personal experiences of Gulwali, our co-founder who escaped war-torn Afghanistan as a child; as well as the voices of many of the children and families our team have worked with in Europe, Jordan and Lebanon. We use the stories of refugee children to build connection with pupils and promote understanding, compassion and empathy among our audiences.
Our team have extensive experience of delivering refugee awareness workshops across the world to education settings. Our programmes combine assemblies, storytelling, talks and classroom workshops for different key stages to support learning outcomes linked to the Citizenship and PSHE curriculums, SMSC education, the British Values framework, Inclusion and SMSC quality marks and wider cross-curriculum projects. For more details, please read all about our specific primary school and secondary school options.
All My Bright Kite programmes are designed to inform, educate and empower children and young people to help them understand the realities faced by families seeking safety from areas of conflict; whilst encouraging critical and reflective thinking. Our core talks and workshops focus on specific themes, however any of the content can be tailor-made to meet your school or college’s needs and vision.
